Sonerai 2 LS - 2 seat tandem - final development of the original single-seat Sonerai 1. LS stands for: Low wing, Stretched, and it is flown from the front seat. This Sonerai is fitted with a Rotax 912 S (100 hp) with only 177 hours engine and airframe total time. It first flew in Tasmania in 2009, and was kept in storage at Tocumwal for some time. It has the eleven rib wing, full span flaperons, is mildly aerobatic, and has a max AUW of 540 kgs. The engine now has the 5 year upgrades required by Rotax - all done, with new fuel, oil, and coolant hoses, new fuel pump, new membranes in the carbs, coolant radiator overhauled, 3 and an eighth ASI now fitted, as well as a new voltmeter. Leak-down test very good. Fuel tankage is 107 litres. Main instrument is MGL EI's, altimeter, ASI, compass and skidball. Comms is an MGL 760 radio. The aircraft has wheel pants (not fitted) and cruises at 125 kts indicated at 4900 rpm. It is a tail-wheel aircraft, and requires good tail-wheel handling technique.
